Huxley Associates statement on spoof email containing virus

Over the last few days, a number of individuals have received an e-mail purporting to be from Huxley Associates (specifically hr@huxley.com) with the subject line: "Thank you for your application." The body of the message explains that they have been unsuccessful in applying for a role, and includes text and imagery stolen from our website.

Some of the emails have also included a file attachment, called either "cv.zip.exe" or "copy of your CV.zip." This attachment contains one or more of the following viruses: W32/Autorun-XI, Mal/ZipMal-B or Mal/CryptBox-A.

The email has not been sent by Huxley Associates or any agency on our behalf. Our email address has been spoofed as part of a virus attack by persons presently unknown. Most of the recipients of these emails are not known to us and have been randomly targeted. If you have received this email, you should delete it unread. You should not open or run any attached files. You should ensure your antivirus software is up-to-date.

Huxley Associates customers can be assured that there has been no breach of the security of our internal systems and no compromise of the integrity of our databases.
